Kong Hee Speaks At World’s Largest Church
7 January 2009 — Senior Pastor of City Harvest Church, Singapore, Kong Hee spoke at the world’s largest church, Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, Korea.
Travelling together with Kong Hee on the five-day trip from January 5-9 were 156 other delegates from CHC’s affiliate churches in countries such as India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan and Australia.
During the midweek service, Kong Hee related to scientific findings revealed in 1993 and shared with the congregation how the heart has a similar neurological system as the brain. While the brain processes information through logic and analysis, the heart processes through feelings; and attaches a feeling to everything it remembers.
As a result, Kong Hee went on to explain, humans act out of faith, love, doubt and unbelief that exist in their hearts. He expounded on the importance of being led by the Word of God, especially in fighting the worst potential hazard in life: Fear. The message drew to a close with 1 John 4:16-18, where Kong Hee shared that faith is what is necessary to win over fear; and the faith that pleases God is the faith that works by love.
The team was also given the privilege to join in Yoido’s daily morning prayer meetings from 4.30 a.m. to 6.00 a.m. as well as be taken on exclusive tours around the church and its many diverse arms, such as the Hansei University, Elim Welfare Town, and even its very own newspaper agency, Kukmin Daily.
One of the biggest highlights of the trip was the visit up to the Prayer Mountain, where the team was shown the main prayer auditorium and the famous prayer grottoes.
Founded on May 18, 1958, in Daejo-dong, Yoido Full Gospel Church has not only grown into the world’s largest church today with 780,000 members, it has also planted 370 other churches in Korea.
