Five Steps To Miracles
“O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” 2 Chronicles 20:12
King Jehoshaphat was facing the greatest threat to his reign. His enemies—the Moabites, the Ammonites and the Syrians—had come to crush his kingdom. He came to a place where he just didn’t know what else to do in the natural. So by faith, he turned to God for His supernatural intervention. Jehoshaphat took five steps that turned an imminent defeat into an opulent victory. We need to do the same whenever we are faced with a crisis.
Step #1: Set your heart to seek the Lord (2 Chr. 20:3-4). Jehoshaphat and all the people of Judah set their hearts to seek after God. As he prayed, Jehoshaphat did three things: (a) He reminded himself who God is (20:6). (b) He also reminded himself what God has done (20:7). (c) He then asked God to do it again (20:12). If you learn to pray this way, you can have faith for any miracle!
Step #2: Focus on the promise, not the problem. Jehoshaphat said, “God, our eyes are upon You” (20:12). No matter what you are hit with in life, learn to focus on the promises in God’s Word, never the problem. Confess the promises of God’s Word to yourself: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” “Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world!” “No weapon formed against me shall prosper!”
Step #3: Stand before the Lord. Ephesians 6:13 says, “And having done all, to stand.” When you have done every thing you can, just trust the Lord.
Step #4: Wait for the Holy Spirit (2 Chr. 20:14). The Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel and he prophesied aloud: “Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s … You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you” (20:15, 17).
Step #5: Begin to praise God in advance (20:22). When the enemies came against Jehoshaphat and his kingdom, the people of Judah unleashed the weapons of their warfare—they started to boldly praise God. Praise is the language of faith. And that day, angels were dispatched to destroy all the enemies that came against Jehoshaphat. Instead of destruction, God brought Jehoshaphat to the Valley of Berachah (blessing) and it took Judah three full days to gather up all the spoils of war.

Thank you, Pastor Kong Hee
For helping me find the Bible passage regarding the “the Moabites and the Ammonites”
I don’t know if many of us get convicted or learned from inspiring sermons from Church? Time flies, now is already passed half way mark for 2009, Jul. Rev Dr A.R. Bernard’s concise preaching:-
FAITH = Believing God of his existence including all his works.
DOUBTS = Opposite of believing God’s existence, doubting his works all the time, this brings mankind to be separated from God.
I wrote, about JOB and LOT, the two different extreme comparison. One who is faithful to God, the other is always doubting GOD.
LOT, as we learned from Pastor Kong Hee is a very selfish man, he is being imprisoned by his selfishness all his life. Do you you think that the Angels that came to his house needed his protection by offering his daughters to have sex with those village people? He selfishly wanted to have protection for himself only, and the two evil city, Sodom and Gomorrah, sex is rampant and by saying to their daughter that he can offer them (who are still virgin) is like giving them Green Light to have sex. So what happened next? LOT, prophcised his own spiritual death. Doubting God all the time, even afraid to go the place where he told the Angels to prepare for him. So the daughters, having given the “green light to have sex” make his father commit the sin of incest by making him drunk. This act of Sin, birth to the enermies of God, the Moabites and the Ammonites. Here is words of Wisdom, our Lord Jesus gave me, which I wanted to share:
“Any thoughts from the heart, which is of the flesh (due to pride, jealousy, doubts, anger, hatre, selfishness, vengence, envy, coveting, in oppression) will birth to sins. Just like the resultant Moabites and Ammonites”

Five Steps To Miracles.
Wonderful revelation. But really, who would actually memorise the FIVE STEPS to achieve miracle? NO POSSIBLE! While we can learned academically to do it by learning but it just won’t happen, because spiritual gifts and miracle don’t belong to mankind but it has to be birth and brought upon to happen by our Holy Spirit. That’s why Lord Jesus said “Only the Holy Spirit can call him Lord.” Confused? What he meant is your calling, a reverance to Lord Jesus as Lord must be from one who is baptised by the Holy Spirit.
Is is very difficult to have miracle? Easy, :) What you need is just to have the Holy Spirit to take control of you life and all situation, following all the steps will be natural as I already written in 10 commandments. (Holy Spirit is our helper, and teacher that Lord Jesus gave when he ascended to the right hand side of throne).
Christians who are like LOT, imprisoned by doubts and selfishness will never achieve nor receive miracles unless he or she repents and be delivered, a Born again Christian in Spirit. NOT academically trained as Christian!
Spiritual miracle works always when recite Jesus words,it turn pride to humble, jealousy to blessing, doubts to faith, anger to gentle, hatre to love, selfishness to generous, vengence to love, envy to blessing, coveting to blessing.
Flesh miracle works less often.
Thanks for sharing this, Pastor Kong.
A wonderful and practical reminder of how I should always see things from God’s perspective, and too always see the truth that overrides the facts.
