Thank you Pastor for the encouraging words. For those going through trials and tribulation, hold fast to your belief in Jesus. Don't be afraid as no case is hopeless.

Mark 5:35-36
While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?”
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”

Jairus’ daughter was dying, and before Jesus arrived at her side, she died. The people around her immediately offered false comfort and pious explanations. Jesus did not pay any attention to what they were saying.

It is amazing how words affect our minds. Words either give life, or they kill. Words either give hope, or they crush our boldness.

Jesus did not allow people’s words to stop Him. He was on His way to perform a miracle that, once and for all, would demonstrate that no case is hopeless.

Jairus’ mind pivoted between hope and doubt. Jesus had, in fact, set out with Jairus to tend to his ailing daughter, but the woman with the issue of blood had hindered them. The woman had been healed, but now it appeared too late for Jairus’ daughter.

Fear and doubt drenched Jairus’ soul, and the negative words of the crowd further dampened his hope. But then, suddenly, Jesus looked into his eyes and said, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”

These words created a fresh wave of hope in Jairus’ inner man, and his heart was filled with faith. Somehow things were no longer hopeless.

Only those closest to Jesus were allowed to accompany Him in to the family. He closed the door on skepticism and unbelief. Scorn and negativism have no place when Jesus is to perform a miracle.

The Holy Spirit thrives in an atmosphere of worship, love and expectation. And the girl was raised from the dead! Nothing is impossible for Jesus, and He is never late.

I thank You Lord for speaking to me personally. You speak directly into crises in my life and say the words I need to hear. You chase away fear with Your Word. No case is hopeless or too late for You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Bad things happen in life as the whole cosmic system is governed by inscrutable laws of Karma... as we sow so shall we reap... nothing less or more! If they were only happiness in life... all would become monotonous... meaningless! Only when we suffer... we understood true value of happiness... never otherwise!

Pastor,
Your article seem to equate death to "bad thing"
I don't think that is God's intention.

Death is simply defined as separation or departed. I have a dear friend who has died recently and hence he was separated from me.
I was sad but it's comforting to know that the pain and suffering is gone and he is finally put to rest.

When Jesus was put to death, the bible did not say it is bad, but gave a comment that "death is swallowed in victory" Hosea 13:4 and ! Cor 15:55

I see death as moving from one form of life to another where there is no sickness, pain or suffering.

In my walk with God, I notice that He often uses "bad things" to bring the lost to Himself.

Think for a moment, how many of us were saved because we encountered these "bad things" such as departure of a loved one, financial loss, illness, etc and God has done something to help us? Don't you think we deserve more "bad things" so that more will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus?

Instead of pointing fingers and accusing each other of sinning against God, we should thank God instead Colossians 3:17

I know it is difficult but it is achievable. Just ask God to give us a grateful heart.

Thank you pastor kong for this post. Now i understand more and I am so inspired to pray more. Sometimes it may be hard, but we must learn to press on and never loose grip of the situation. My cgc once told me that God always has a miracle up His sleeve and up till today I still remember that. I believe these are trials that God puts us through only for the better. Sincere thanks, pastor! (:
