Back-to-back with his speaking engagements at two other churches Down Under, Feb 26-27 found Kong Hee at Mount Annan Church in Sydney.

Senior Pastor Andrew Gray had just taken over the church from his father Ps. Adrian Gray.

On the first night, Kong shared with the congregation how positive speaking can result in crystal-like formations in water, whereas negative speaking will result in dark, ugly looking formations. He then went on to expound on the importance of positive speaking in daily living and the power it contains.

The following day, Kong spoke at the Enlarge Leadership Seminar luncheon, and at the opening session of the church’s Men’s Conference in the evening.

500 turned up at the church located right in the largest convention center—The Cube Convention Center—in Campbelltown, one hour’s car journey away from Sydney city.

A graduate of City Harvest Bible Training Center, Ps. John Lee is the Senior Pastor of City Harvest Church’s newest affiliate—Sydney Harvest Church.

Three days earlier, Kong Hee had shared the Word of God at the church located in Sydney’s Chinatown.
Although the church was 120-strong, more than 300 people turned up to pack the place on both nights, and about 50 responded to the altar call at the end of the meetings.

Besides the mostly young Korean congregation, there was also a small but special group of people who were exceptionally thrilled to see Kong Hee preaching in the church.

These were the City Harvest Church members who were either studying or working in Sydney, and had found their way to Sydney Harvest Church.

They flocked to Kong after the service and some even requested to take photographs with him.

11 January 2009 — The second week of January saw Kong Hee traveling to Taiwan to minister in three different churches, all of which are affiliated to City Harvest Church (CHC), Singapore.

Together with a small team of translators, the series of meetings were organized by Taipei New Life Church and included visits to Xin Dian Covenant Church and Tainan Bread of Life Church.

During this trip, Kong preached an inspiring message on keeping oneself positive at all times, further illustrating from an experiment on the effects that positive and negative words have in influencing how water crystals are formed in the body. Explaining how a large percentage of the human body is made up of water, Kong showed the congregation how water crystals were beautifully formed when exposed to positive words. The inverse also rang true when the congregation was also shown pictures of misshapen water crystals when exposed to negative words.

Using this vivid illustration to encourage the people to always remain positive, those in attendance were visibly moved and challenged to live a life of faith and positivity.

This was also the first time that Kong preached in the Tainan church where he was warmly welcomed. The senior leadership at this church was greatly impacted when they were in Singapore for the Asia Conference in November 2008. So blessed were they by what they saw that they went back to their home church and totally changed the way they conducted their church services. As a result, when people found out that Kong was scheduled to preach at this church, they came in droves and filled the main auditorium and overflow rooms in no time. The congregation was visibly touched by his ministry and received the Word of God into their hearts with great joy.

Over at New Life Church, where Kong is regarded as an apostolic overseer, the members were extremely excited and sat under a great time of impartation. Kong also spent some time to fellowship with the leaders and other close associates during his visit.

During one service held at Xin Dian Covenant Church, Kong was so moved by one of the worship songs that their worship team composed that he introduced it back in his home church in Singapore. In that same meeting, Kong also prophesied that this worship team would continue to bless Taiwan with even more songs.

On the last day, Kong rounded up his final meeting before heading back to America to see his family.

7 January 2009 — Senior Pastor of City Harvest Church, Singapore, Kong Hee spoke at the world’s largest church, Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, Korea.

Travelling together with Kong Hee on the five-day trip from January 5-9 were 156 other delegates from CHC’s affiliate churches in countries such as India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan and Australia.
During the midweek service, Kong Hee related to scientific findings revealed in 1993 and shared with the congregation how the heart has a similar neurological system as the brain. While the brain processes information through logic and analysis, the heart processes through feelings; and attaches a feeling to everything it remembers.

As a result, Kong Hee went on to explain, humans act out of faith, love, doubt and unbelief that exist in their hearts. He expounded on the importance of being led by the Word of God, especially in fighting the worst potential hazard in life: Fear. The message drew to a close with 1 John 4:16-18, where Kong Hee shared that faith is what is necessary to win over fear; and the faith that pleases God is the faith that works by love.

The team was also given the privilege to join in Yoido’s daily morning prayer meetings from 4.30 a.m. to 6.00 a.m. as well as be taken on exclusive tours around the church and its many diverse arms, such as the Hansei University, Elim Welfare Town, and even its very own newspaper agency, Kukmin Daily.

One of the biggest highlights of the trip was the visit up to the Prayer Mountain, where the team was shown the main prayer auditorium and the famous prayer grottoes.

Founded on May 18, 1958, in Daejo-dong, Yoido Full Gospel Church has not only grown into the world’s largest church today with 780,000 members, it has also planted 370 other churches in Korea.

13 – 14 December 2008 — Kong Hee visits Victory Life Church, pastored by Margaret Court, who holds 62 Grand Slam titles.

Kong Hee was invited to speak at three services and the graduation ceremony of a Bible school conducted by Victory Life Church. Held in Perth, Australia, the meetings drew a total of 3,500 people to receive the Word of God.

Victory Life Church is pastored by Rev. Dr. Margaret Court, who was ordained to Christian ministry in 1991 after seventeen years of service for the Lord. In the same year, she established Margaret Court Ministries Inc., an outreach ministry to take the gospel to the people and to hold miracle and healing meetings throughout the city.

Surprisingly to some, Court was also an acclaimed international tennis player. Born in 1942, she began playing tennis when she was eight years old and was 17 when she won the first of seven consecutive singles titles at the 1960 Australian Championships.

Court is one of only three players to have achieved a career “boxed set” of Grand Slam titles, winning every possible Grand Slam title—singles, same-sex doubles and mixed doubles—at all four Grand Slam events.

She retired from the tennis circuit in 1976 with sixty-two Grand Slam titles to her credit. Despite her great achievements as an athlete, she saw her current pastoring work as her greatest challenge yet, far surpassing her days in pro-tennis.

Court said, “Victory Life Church is the fulfillment of a vision God gave to me some time ago, that a mighty work of mercy, love and compassion be established in this great city of Perth.”

Being much in demand, not only in Australia but also overseas, Court teaches and ministers with a powerful healing anointing. Her television show, “A Life of Victory,” appears on the Australian Christian Channel.

She is married to Barry Court, who was president of the Pastoralists’ and Graziers’ Association, and became president of the Liberal Party of Western Australia in March 2008.

With a strong outlook on engaging the society in multiple areas, the congregation of Victory Life Church embraced the message shared by Kong Hee, who expounded on the importance for Christians to fulfill the cultural mandate.

In addition to the services and graduation ceremony, Kong also addressed 100 church leaders during a breakfast meeting.

7 – 9 November 2008 — “How shall I ask my crush out for a date?” “How can I get better examination results in school?” “Where can I work to get more pocket money?”

These are probably questions faced by many youth living in cities across the world.

While the youth of Heart of God Church (HOGC), located in urban Singapore, are not spared the joys and pains of growing up just like any other young person, many of them have a different mindset toward life as they have been discipled to be “not just leaders of tomorrow, but leaders of today.”

Speaking in HOGC from November 7 to 9, 2008, Kong Hee felt at home. HOGC, led by Rev. Tan Seow How, is strongly affliated to City Harvest Church (CHC), which Kong Hee personally pastors, and it carries the same spiritual DNA—contemporary and relevant to society, while being Spirit-filled and full of faith.

Both churches have two of the fastest growing congregations in Singapore.

Just like how CHC started out, HOGC, birthed in 1996, comprises of many youth today. Starting with group of nine teenagers in 1999, the youth ministry of HOGC now comprises of hundreds of people.

Addressing the capacity crowd of approximately 800 people over three nights in HOGC, Kong Hee challenged the youth to be transformational leaders in schools and in the marketplace.

To do so, they have to be spiritual by treasuring their godly values, while engaging the culture by staying relevant to society and excelling in their schools and workplaces.

Depositing yet another impartation of faith and revelation in HOGC, Kong Hee exhorted the congregation to posture itself for a phenomenal surge of growth.

CHC worship band also ministered to the congregation at HOGC over those 3 days, leading many believers into the presence of God.

30 September – 3 October 2008 — With a passion to empower Christians worldwide to fulfill the cultural mandate, Kong Hee accepted the invitation to speak at the annual Global Impact Conference, organized by City Impact Church.

Founded in 1982, City Impact Church is led by Senior Pastors Peter and Bev Mortlock.
Situated in Auckland, the venue of Global Impact Conference 2008 was the new sanctuary of City Impact Church. It was built in an awesome labor of love by many volunteers over a period of two years.

Such enthusiasm to build the house of God struck a chord with Kong Hee, who promptly challenged the capacity crowd of more than 2,100 believers to advance the kingdom of God into every sphere of society.

It proved to be a divine message, especially to the Christians living in Auckland, which is becoming increasingly cosmopolitan as the center of urban growth and affluence in New Zealand.

The Global Impact Conference was attended by participants from different parts of New Zealand such as Queenstown, Balcutha, Invercargill, Napier, Wellington and Gisborne. Delegates also flew in from Singapore, United States and other countries.

The conference had three different strands for church leaders, youth and children.

24 September 2008 — Word of Life Christian Center organized the “Catch His Fire, Carry His Flame Conference” and invited Kong Hee to speak at its sanctuary situated in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Addressing the capacity crowd of 1,500 people, Kong Hee encouraged the believers to answer the calling of God to be light of the world and salt of the earth by actively engaging pop culture.

This refreshing message was delivered as the church celebrated its 24th anniversary.

It was also a revisit to the place of divine encounter for Kong Hee.

More than a decade ago, by the beach of Waikiki, God spoke to him to build a church without walls by passionately meeting the needs of the community. This brought an exponential growth in leading people to Christ, and it marked a turning point in the history of City Harvest Church — the congregation Kong Hee pastors.
